Taloka Valley Cultural Heritage Center is located on twenty (20) rural acres near Stigler, Oklahoma (one mile off of State Hwy #9). It is designed to appeal to those who want to learn more about the rich history and culture of this region. Our goal is to educate and entertain in a family friendly environment.
Our main focus is on the rural life-style in this region pre-WWII.
This is without question, a country experience in the sense that there is no air conditioning and the only heat source is from our large antique wood/coal burning stove. The grass is not always closely mowed and the dogs may come up to you and ask to be petted. In cool weather dress warm. In warm weather do what you can to stay cool. Wear walking shoes. Sunscreen and insect repellent may be needed.
We are in the process of developing events to be offered throughout the year and will post them on our EVENTS page as they are ready to offer.
Although the facility is open by appointment only we are generally available on short notice.
We are willing to custom build an experience if you have a special need/interest, let us know.
"We welcome all visitors from individuals to large tour groups."
Schools are encouraged to utilize the center and it would be especially relevant for Oklahoma History students.
